I Know Who You Are
Hey, guys!
Sonny has uploaded a new song onto his Myspace. The song is titled "I Know Who You Are." This one is definitely like nothing you've heard before. Check it out, guys!
And of course, a download has been provided. Please credit this website whenever giving out this link.
Sonny has posted a brand new blog on his Myspace account updating you on his upcoming album and even a couple of shows! Take a read here.
He says the following:
"Hello,
We are now in the post production/mixing process of the album. Everything is going as planned and the product has exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds.
Also, I will be doing a couple shows in september in California with Tricky. Would love to see all of you there.
ML,
Sonny"
The three shows Sonny will be taking part in in September are the following:
11 Sep 2008 20:00 House of Blues W/ Tricky Anaheim, California
12 Sep 2008 20:00 Henry Fonda Theatre W/ Tricky Los Angeles, California

If you're in the area be sure to buy your tickets to see Sonny live in concert as soon as you can! If you're like me and live nowhere near the California region, don't worry about it. I'm sure there will be some dates coming your way pretty soon.
We know there's been a lack of news as of late. That's why I decided to upload 60 rare, high resolution photographs of Sonny on stage at the Knitting Factory (his very first headlining show) back in May.
And don't forget to join our brand new message board. If you want to meet other Sonny fans, talk about Sonny all day, or just get your questions answered, join our message board today! Click here to join all the fun.
I noticed some of you asking for the video Sonny just released through his MySpace. Well... here it is, but it's not really new. It's from back in the AP Tour just so you know :]
Hey, lovelies! We finally have an update for you! You'll really like this one.
Sonny has been featured in Kerrang Magazine! The article and interview discusses his departure with From First To Last, his home in Los Angeles, and new information about his debut CD, "Bells"!
A big thank you goes to Sydnee for typing out this article for everyone to read. And a big thank you to Bert and Sian for volunteering to type all of this out. We really appreciate it, guys!
Edit: Bert was kind enough to take a picture of the article for all of you guys! Thanks again, Bert.
The following is the article typed out:
ON THE CUSP OF A MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH WITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, SINGER SONNY MOORE QUIT THE BAND SUDDENLY IN 2007. BUT, AS HE REVEALS, IT WAS THE BEST DECISION HE EVER MADE.
"It's a gossip piece. You want the gossip, right?" says Sonny Moore, with a playful laugh.
The former From First To Last singer, who is only 20 years old, quit the band in February 2007, turning his back on a rising career to embark on a solo adventure. Since then, while rumours regarding his decision to leave the band fueled internet messageboards, Moore has been out of the spotlight, getting himself together and formulating ideas for his new project.
"To be honest, it wasn't a difficult decision to leave but it was definately a hard thing to go through," he admits. "But i'd rather not talk about From First To Last because when it comes down to it..." He pauses, planning his words carefully. "I was unhappy," he confesses. "But i don't want this to be a pity party for Sonny. I just knew it was no longer for me and i didn't want to be a part of that band anymore."
Sonny Moore as the screamo caricature, grumbling and griping about how hard done by he was and how much his bandmates hated him would be a much easier sell. After all, they were on the up after the runaway success of the 2004 debut Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has A Body Count, and the follow-up, Heroine, was set to guarantee that Moore and his band would be the next kings of the scene. But the singer certainly doesn't appear to be harbouring any regrets about his decision or bitterness towards his old rock comrades.
"I feel like the weight has been lifted," he grins. "No offence to the guys in From First To Last because i love them to death but i definitely feel much happier now - musically, emotionally and spiritually.
"It's all over now and i'm sure those dudes will have a great future," Moore adds. "As far as our relationships? That doesn't really matter. If you're on a tour bus with anyone for nine months you'll bicker. Ultimately it was just time to do my own thing. I always intended to go down this route, even when i was 16. I genuinely wish them the best."
When Moore called it quits last year, he moved back to LA and shacked up in a $400 (about 200 pound) a month apartment in The Art Share; a glorified artist commune in the city's industrial quarter. It's just a block or two from the infamous skid row district, populated with a cornucopia of crack dealers and prostitutes. Not the nicest of neighbourhoods.
"There's always someone hustling and grinding," says Moore, who admits the growing number of young professionals moving in presents him with a more immediate concern.
"It's being gentrified now, so the rent will probably go up," he sighs. "It's still pretty rough though, i had my car broken into a few weeks back. Guess that'll teach me to leave shit in there again."
It was here in this lively, creative hub, the germ of his eponymous solo project began to take shape. With the help of some industry friends and a laptop, Moore put his troubles with From First To Last behind him and rekindled his inner songwriting spark. The fertile bohemian surroundings, mixed with a long held love of electronic music, led his muse away from the screamo territory of old toward more experimental avenues.
"My voice really wasn't built for the style of music From First To Last made," Moore explains. "Now, it's never been better. I had three surgeries which made me feel bad for the other guys because it felt like i was fucking them over [the band were forced to drop out of the 2006 Warped Tour inorder for Moore to have a nodule removed from his vocal cords].
"The financial hardship was a real pressure on everyone," he adds. "But if i continued screaming like that, i risked damaging my voice for the rest of my life."
He may have been a wide-eyed, frightened 17-year-old kid who poured his teen angst out 'til it hurt during his time in FFTL, but now Moore is ready to stamp his own mark on the music world. Confident, liberated and excited by music once more, Moore is leaving his past behind and focusing firmly on the future.
"It feels just like when i first joined From First To Last," he says. "Everything is new and exciting. My taste palettes feel crisp, clean and fresh. I'm hungry now."
With a full-length debut, Bells, pencilled in for release later this year - four tracks of which Moore has already completed with producer Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails) - the journey of "art's continuous discovery" drives him forward. "I've been through everything that is stereotypically considered as success, so there is nothing for me to lose," he reasons. "I may be starting from scratch but i have also everything to gain. I understand now, that certain kinds of success are nothing if you are unhappy."
He pauses, planning his words carefully once again. "But i feel happy now," Moore smiles. "I'm still finding myself as an artist but it feels really nice."
MY NEW MUSIC SOUNDS LIKE... SONNY REVEALS WHAT HE'S GOT IN STORE FOR HIS FORTHCOMING SOLO ALBUM, BELLS...
"It's very danceable, melodic and beautiful. It will have a little of everything on it: hip-hop, rock, drum 'n' bass, house, even some ambient. Lyrically, it will be very personal. It might seem like a whole bunch of thoughts that mean nothing to anyone else but, to me, they're important. Songs you can expect to hear are Concentrical, Signal, Cusp, Base Recluse and Mora, which is probably my favourite song on it so far. It's a new beginning and i'm really excited."
Great article, right? I'm sure that's answered a lot of questions many of you had about his up and coming debut CD.
Please remember, we still need either scans or pictures of this article. If you have it, please e-mail us here. We would very much appreciate it.
Guess what? We have a new forum layout courtesy of non other than my sister! Yep... that's right :] I have been wanting to change it for a while but had no ideas on a new design. My sister was kind enough to help me out and made us a beautiful (and might I add very colorful) forum layout.
