Forum/Sonny Update
Hello everyone!
Just making a fast update to tell you all that I made a new forum theme. It was fast and easy and a little similar in color to the last one :]]
I hope you like it! And if you still have not become a member you can register HERE!
Sonny also created a new Skrillex myspace. It's a myspace for all of the remixing and things he does as DJ Skrillex. You can find it and add him HERE! It even features a Sexual Seduction remix! Go check it out if you have not already :]
I know I'm a little late on this one but, Sonny also posted a video from one of his shows! It looks like everyone had a great time. I wish I was there :]] You can view the video below.
I made a new layout/theme for the site. I really like this one, and I hope you do too :]
I still have a few changes and fixes to do, so I will be updating tomorrow with some new stuff. I may also start working on a new gallery layout to put up within the next few days. So keep checking back in!
Sonny recently posted a flyer for the Epicenter 2009 Festival on his Myspace page.
He will be playing the festival on Saturday, August 22nd alongside bands Tool, Linkin Park, Alice In Chains and more! The show will take place at Fairplex in Pomona, California.
If you are in the area please go and support Sonny :]
Sonny also uploaded a new picture to his myspace. Yay, doesn't he look so cute?? haha.

Electronica punk rock artist Sonny Moore swoons listeners with dance-worthy beats and emotionally charged lyrics.

At 5’4” and with long, black hair past his shoulders, Sonny Moore is no Brad Pitt. But that doesn’t stop drooling teenage girls from compiling every photo they can find of the electronica-punk rock singer and playing them as a slideshow set to one of his tracks on YouTube. Moore is the latest addition to the growing electronica scene and has unintentionally become an online heartthrob. But he’s not so sure how he feels about the strong following.
“It’s nice that people can admire me, and there’s a degree about it that speaks to me,” Moore said. “But there’s a bit of that admiration that feels a little superficial to me sometimes.”
Superficial or not, there’s no denying that Moore has acquired a significant fan base – and he hasn’t even released his first full-length album. He’s been flying solo since Thanksgiving 2006, when he removed himself as frontman of the post-hardcore band From First To Last. The band released two records with Moore as the lead singer – one titled “Dear Diary, My Teen Angst has a Body Count” in June 2004, and the other “Heroine” in March 2006, both under Epitaph records. The band had a good run together, successfully completing a brief European Tour and touring alongside Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights, and The All-American Rejects on the Black Clouds and Underdogs Tour.
After playing several dates on the 2006 Vans Warped Tour, however, Moore began experiencing vocal problems, and the group had to drop out when he needed a nodule removed from his vocal cords. “I couldn’t sing at all,” Moore said. “I was 16 when I started to tour and had no professional experience. You’re bound to injure yourself if you’re not doing it right.”
History repeated itself when he had to have a second nodule removed, and From First To Last was forced to leave the tour it was on with Atreyu. Financially struggling and unhappy with the group’s label at the time, Capitol, Moore finally announced on Feb. 27, 2007, his decision to split.
Since then, Moore has been featured on the cover of Alternative Press Magazine’s 2009 “100 Bands You Need to Know” issue, toured with The Rocket Summer and All Time Low in the March 2008 AP Tour and headlined for the first time in May 2008. He released his first three demos – “Signal”, “Equinox” and “Glow Worm” – through Myspace and recorded his debut album, “Bells”, in June 2008, to be released this summer through Atlantic Records. More said the new record combines electronica elements with melodic vocals, R&B and punk rock. “All the songs are cohesive, but they all have their own sonic world,” he said. “It’s neurotic, and it’s magical. It goes through so many emotions, sonically and lyrically.”
His latest EP, “Gypsyhook”, gave fans a taste of what to expect when it was released in April. Catchy beats and melodic vocals produce one of those sounds that make it impossible to keep your feet still. Moore reports that his most personal song on the new album is “Copaface”. “They’re all so personal, man,” Moore said. “But that one’s hard to think about, and I’m really proud of how it came out.”
Moore is inspired to write through everyday experiences, but his lyrics never fail to remain cohesive, as they all fuse into a raw, emotional compilation that resonates with honesty. “Sometimes I’ll be working on the computer and creating music, and sometimes I’ll be driving around listening to the radio and I’ll get an idea from something I heard,” he said. “It’s all over the board, man, you know. It’s important to be open to taking inspiration from everything.”
“Bells” took 12-hour days, every single day for three months, Moore said. He dedicates himself to his music and doesn’t plan on earning his living any other way for the time being. “I’ve never had a job in my life,” he explained. “It ain’t luck: it’s hard work. I spend my money on touring and on my band.”
Everyone has something to say about Moore, and the Web is littered with pages and site dedicated to him and his music, including an extensive fan site called “SONNYMOOREFAN – Your #1 Source for Everything Sonny.” He tries to avoid the propaganda altogether because he’s reacted so sensitively to negative feedback in the past. “It’s funny because, as much as it gets to me, I shouldn’t care about any of it,” he said. “I just don’t like to read anything online about me because I don’t want it to influence me at all.”
These days, Moore can be found listening to a lot of dance music and remixes – his latest obsession is the new MSTRKRFT record. He’s currently on tour and would like to say “Shut up” to “all the haters out there…[laughs]…I wouldn’t say ‘shut up’ to anybody.”
